    Notes
    • Scribner, Joe and Agnes (Hinz)
Joe Scribner was one of the early threshers in the district. His wife was a Hinz; her brothers homesteaded in the Union Jack area. The Scribners had two children, Hazel and Everett (Scrib). He later moved to the Coast. Joe was a steam engineer. He got a job running a donkey steam engine for a lumber company until he retired. I used to hear of him through Clara Detlor, who was his niece. Hazel Scribner, Laverne Walker, and I (Aubrey Marjerison) were playmates in early Central Butte around 1916. Kye Walker, Laverne's father, lived here for a short time as a carpenter. He built the big house that Vern Detlor lived in. Mrs Schwatrz (also a Hinz) lived with them until her passing. Kye later moved to Nipawin. His wife was Norma Quigley's aunt. Laverne still lives in Nipawin. [6]
