Cass County Office of the County Commissioners
Walker, Minnesota - April 19, 1904

G.A. Merril, Esq.,
Owatonna, Minnesota

Dear Sir;

Replying to yours of the 11th would say I mentioned in my first letter that Mrs. Clark did not want Ellen until she was in her own home; but feeling Ellen might be given out she took the matter up with you. Not knowing what might of been reported to you, I will venture to say that no one can attack her virtue or ambition, she has not missed a day's labor since here return from Owatonna. Please inform what will be necessary for her return and I will see that it is furnished to you.

Repectfully yours,
C.E. Scribner
