Text | We regret to announce the death of Mr. Lewis G. Hatton, of Twyning, near Tewkesbury, which occurred suddenly from apoplexy at his residence on Saturday evening. Earlier in the day Mr. Hatton had attended Gloucester Market, where he saw and conversed with his brither, Mr. A. V. Hatton, J.P., of Gloucester, and he then appeared in his usual health. The deceased, who was 68 years of age, was a member of the Tewkesbury Board of Guardians, and was a well-known agriculturalist in Gloucestershire and adjoining counties. He had been for some years a churchwarden. After reaching home on Saturday evening, Mr. Hatton proceede to look after one or two matters on his farm, and gave some milk to some calves. He appeared in his usual health. Miss Williams, who had been speaking to him, had just returned into the house, when a lad who was passing came with the news that Mr. Hatton had fallen. Assistance ws immediately given, but before anythingf could be done he had breathed his last. | |
