APPERLEY - (BUTCH) VERNON WARFIELD passed away of double pneumonia and a stroke at the Pasqua Hospital March 13, 1999. He was 58 years old. Born in Regina on November 28, 1940, Butch lived in Regina all his life, and was a well known guitarist in the 1960s and 70s. Butch was recognized by the Saskatchewan Country Music Association with the Heritage award in March 1994. Predeceased by his parents, Vern and Ina Apperley, his sisters Gladys (Bert) Apperley, Verna (Elseor) Leger, and Sarah (Clair) Kutzley, Butch is survived by his loving wife, Kathy and her daughter Bonnie Predenchuk and family; his previous wife Marie and their children: Angelique Desiree (Ken) McDowell, Timothy Vernon and wife Devri, Marquita Marie, Tara Shai, and Tyree and wife Deanna; and his eleven grandchildren; his sister Ina Dobson of Regina, his brother Tom (Olive) Apperley of Lebret, SK., and his sister Alice Lalonde (Paul) of Richardson, SK., also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be missed by many life-time friends not only in the music field but as friends and neighbours during his life. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 20, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. in the lower level of Zion United Church, 120 Broad St., Regina. Flowers are gratefully declined and donations may be sent to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Regina Branch, 4420 Albert St., Regina S4S 6B4 in memory of Butch.
