Text | IVEY - October 17th, at the Royal Infirmary, John Curry Ivey, the beloved husband of Grace E. Ivey, passed peacefully away, aged 60 years. 30 October 1937 The funeral of Mr. John Curry Ivey, of 1, Falkner-street, Gloucester, has taken place. The first part of the service was held at St. Michael's Church, the interment following at the cemetery. The Rev. E. C. Pritchard (vicar) officiated throughout. Principal mourners were the widow, Mr. Charles Ivey, Mr. George Ivey (sons), Miss Mary Ivey (daughter), Mrs. M. A. Ivey (mother), of Rugby, Mr. and Mrs. C. Kent (brother-in-law and sister), of Rugby, Mr. Jack Kent (nephew), of Rugby, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Ivey (brother and sister-in-law) of Bristol, Mr. Bob Ivey (nephew) of Bristol, Mr. H. J. Harvey. Bearers were Messrs. G. Mallard, D. Jones, G. Smith and J. Steed, of the L.M.S. railway staff. Representatives of the L.M.S. Railway were Messrs. H. Ralph (station Inspector), Burford (Station-master), Marriott (chief guard), Cripps (telegraph department), F. Walton, A. E. James, J. Limmett (Chesterheld), J. Johnson, J. Harrington, F. Jelfs, B. Franks, C. Pearson. Among others present at the church were Mr. H. A. Bretherton, Mrs. Hillman, Mrs. Boughton, Miss E. Mason, Mrs. Phelps, Mrs. Oliver, Miss Groves, Mrs. J. Dalby, Mrs. Buckall, Mrs. Johnston, Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Ash, Mrs. Holtham, Mrs. Parrot, Mrs. Wells, Mr. W. Habgood, Mrs. Goodall, Miss D. Goodall, Mrs. Hyam, Mrs. Aubrey, Mrs. Morey, Mrs. Tozer, Mr. William Crowther, Mrs. A. F. James, Mr. C. H. Long, Mr. H. Barton, Mr. A. A. Johnston, Mr. F. Cullip (son), Mr. Charles, G. Hunt. Wreaths were sent from sorrowing wife and children; mother, sister Mary, Charley and nephew Jack (Rugby); Aunt Hannah and Aunt Mary (Bristol); Den; Chummy; L.M.S. Raiway passenger department (staffs); principals and staff of S. H. Wright and Co. London; Mr. H. J. Harvey, Mrs. Hooper; Mrs. Aubrey and family; Sonis; Mr. Mayo and family; Mr. and Mrs. Dobbs (Churchdown); "Stonehouse Flower Man". Mr. and Mrs. Harry Groves; Mr. and Mrs. Allen and Reg; all at No. 5, Faulkner-street; Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey (Barley Mow, Southgate-street); Mr. and Mrs. Hillman and Jack; Mr. and Miss Jones (Faulkner-street); few friends at Locomotive Inn, Station-road. | |
